Stories & Songs | Ave Maria - The U.S. Naval Academy Men's Glee Club

Several months ago, I stumbled upon a video of some of the members of Straight No Chaser (along with a few other guys) singing at the wedding of one of the founders, Dan Ponce. The arrangement of Ave Maria that they performed was unlike any I'd ever heard, and Randy Stine (who posted the video) said it was by a man named Franz Biebl. It was gorgeous and I loved listening to it!

Fast forward to just a few weeks ago, when I was watching videos of the Naval Academy Men's Glee Club. They are one of the finest choruses in the nation and my family has always loved hearing them perform. (Not in person - yet! Maybe one day, though!) Imagine my surprise and joy to find a video of them performing the same arrangement of Ave Maria that SNC did!

They sang the full song (over 7 minutes long, but worth it!) and the seniors were in the balcony of the church in which they performed. It's absolutely glorious and I wanted to share it with you!
