My sister, Sarah, and I ended up getting iPhones the end of last year, only because they were older models (4S) and free with a contract. :) So we were happy to download the Instagram app and keep up with our friends that way! It really is fun, simple, and drama-free. At least among our friends it is. :)
Here are some of my favorite photos that I've Instagrammed over the last few months - enjoy!
New Year's Eve + red shoes
Playing around on the guitar...one of my favorite things to do when I have a few minutes to spare.
Southern Living magazine + a cup of coffee + a triple chocolate chip muffin = a wonderful day. :)
It snowed on the Coast in February! Actually, it was more like ice pellets. But still, for an area of the country that almost never gets snow, it was a big deal.
We're foster caring for a Standard Poodle named Maggie and we might end up keeping her. She's super smart, really sweet, and a 3 year old in a dog's body. :)
Our sweet Lab mix, Luke. After we put down our beloved Welsh Corgi, Callie, last August, he started showing his age (13) a lot more.
I was so excited to purchase an Anchinalu scarf from Live Fashionable! I heard about this amazing ministry through Ellie Holcomb - beautiful handmade scarves and leather products from ladies in Africa. Go check it out!
We love frozen yogurt, and when we had an unusually warm day early in the spring, we had to go get some. :)
Our dear Mississippi Grandmother invited us over one evening and surprised us - we didn't know these wonderful people would be there! The guy in the middle in the maroon shirt is her grandson, Graham; to his right is his best friend Matt and their friends Jill and Callie! They just graduated from Texas A&M! Gig 'Em Aggies!!!
We spent a weekend in Gulf Shores in March, and another few days there again the end of May. It's one of our favorite places to camp and relax.
Sarah and I had the incredible blessing of backing Ellie Holcomb's album on Kickstarter, and this was our box of goodies that came in the mail. :) All 3 CDs, an LP vinyl record, cards with the link to a free music download, a thank-you note, and a t-shirt!
Dream come true: we finally got to go ice skating at our hometown arena with friends. Let's just say I have an enormous appreciation for Olympic figure skaters. They make it look so easy!
Selfies with the dog. :) She loves to ride in the car!
Sarah and I are OBSESSED with Sue Thomas, F.B.Eye! We were so glad our parents gave us the whole set for our birthday. :)
I had fun playing an April-Fool's-Two-Weeks-Late joke on my friends...this was a mannequin at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. M'boyfriend. :)
Music stores are one of my favorite things. I had too much fun playing this Eastman T386, which is very similar to a Gibson ES-335, at Blues Angel Music in Pensacola. A guitar with a really, really cool sound. :) Also note the (helpful) store employee who noticed Sarah was taking video and decided to photobomb it. :D
Cat Island Coffeehouse in the Pass Christian Bookstore! Such a cool place here on the Coast.
Another one of my favorite things - Ferris wheels. It wasn't running when I took this picture, but when we went to Gulf Shores the second time we had so much fun riding this one at The Wharf in Orange Beach.
Our own Biloxi Lighthouse.
8 months to the day after I first played on a Martin 000-16GT in a music store in south Louisiana, I brought my very own guitar home from the post office. I was thrilled to find it used on eBay for a great price and it's in great condition. It has that beautiful, rich Martin tone and I am so thankful to have it. Some day soon I'm going to get an internal microphone installed and record some hymn arrangements on it!
Scrumptious food at Leatha's BBQ Inn in Hattiesburg. A wonderful place with dear people.
We didn't attend the Memorial Day ceremony at the National Cemetery in Biloxi, but Sarah and I went down there later that day to see Mr. Steve Burnett's grave and Mr. Tom Forsythe's. It was so quiet and still and beautiful. (You may remember this post from a couple years ago on my old blog.)
Sarah and I could not have been happier to be back in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and get Meche's donuts (recently renamed the Cajun Market Donut Company). (These pictures are all out of order - this was from our trip to Texas a couple weeks ago.)
Mmmm, iced coffee. :)
Mother's Day - us and our dear Mama. :)
We were so excited to go back to San Antonio and volunteer at BSF Headquarters! It was such a blessing preparing lunch for 150 people all week.
F - B - Eye
(Because Mamie and Sarah and I are such huge fans. :))
A 90˚ day + Watermelon Lime tea from a dear friend.
We had a free day when we were in Texas and took a trip out to Boerne! There was this tiny little take-a-book, leave-a-book library in a park! And a Texas-sized chair in a ranch furniture store. And a painting of the Presidents. And a Texas A&M watch. (Gig 'em.)
I cut up a store bought bouquet and put it in jars for a luncheon we hosted. Happy colors to brighten a rainy spring day!
The last day we were in Texas, we ate at a local Mexican restaurant and the beef and chicken fajitas were sooooo good.
Father's Day - so thankful for Daddy. :)
I'm planning on doing an Instagram pictures post on a regular basis from now on, so stay tuned!
Also, I have a ton of pictures from our trips to Gulf Shores and Pensacola that I need to edit and blog. So those should be on here soon, too. :)
With love,
Rebekah

Gorgeous pictures! Thanks for posting them! My favorites were the shots of y'all with your parents and the lighthouse (and the pictures of the food. :-)) Do you mind if I paint a watercolor picture of the lighthouse, using your picture as reference?
ReplyDeleteThe Sue Thomas DVDs (we'll return them, I promise!!) have gotten the younger three siblings interested in sign language!
Maggie never fails to crack me up. She's so cute and funny. :-)
