Gulf Shores, Alabama

A few weeks ago, in April, my family spent a couple of days camping in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We rarely get to camp in the spring time with our busy schedules, so we were thankful to get away from it all and relax. The weather couldn't have been more perfect.

Gulf State Park is huge but the sites are spread out and everything is very well-kept. Always the sign of a good campground. :)

This picture always reminds me of a line in a Kenny Chesney song, El Cerrito Place.
"Somehow I wound up in the desert / just after daylight / where the Joshua trees grow / that little place you always liked..."

Best. Feeling. Ever.


(Those towers are for ziplining! Can you imagine how much fun that would be?!)

Jimmy Buffett's sister Lucy started this restaurant years ago and it's become raaaaather popular. It was easy to see why. The food is SO good, y'all.




I actually stumbled upon The Wharf at Orange Beach while looking around on Google Maps a few weeks before we went. What immediately caught my eye was the Ferris wheel. I have a thing for Ferris wheels...so of course we had to ride it. :)

They had an old car show that weekend. It was fun. :)


Red Mustangs are the coolest ever!




They also had a yacht show going on in the marina behind the condos. We didn't want to pay to go on the boats so we just looked from above. Whew goodness. They were nice. :)


I did use an Instagram preset for this picture. It just looked cool. :)


Sarah and I got ice cream. Chocolate and mint chocolate chip are our favorites. :)












Bigfoot?! (Actually, we had just seen Blimey Cow's short film and thought of that when we saw these big footprints... :))






This picture reminds me of the Santa Monica Pier. Can't believe we're actually going to see it in a few weeks. More on that later...stay tuned!








So all these little sandpipers were running around looking for things to eat...


...but they were running around so fast I had to literally RUN to catch up with them!
