Growing up on the Mississippi Coast, where it's 90 degrees in the summer time, I could never understand it when my parents would talk about living in California. "Nobody has A/C or heat, you leave the windows open, and you have to wear a jacket in the early mornings and evenings." That made no sense...until we were on the California coast.
It's cold, y'all. At least to my used-to-90-degrees self. We braved the stiff wind off the Pacific Ocean and watched a gorgeous sunset at Pismo Beach:
One thing that's interesting about the Pacific at certain times of the day is the marine layer. It blurs the horizon so you don't even see it - it's impossible to tell where the water ends and the sky begins.
Sarah and I have a bit of a fascination with tour buses. Most of them are made by Prevost. So we thought it was funny that a street sign at an RV park had that name on it!
We used to have that exact same linoleum in our kitchen before we redid it. :)
Santa Barbara, I think. Or somewhere near it.
Vineyards
The Salinas Valley truly is America's salad bowl. Almost every kind of vegetable and fruit is grown there!
Just-picked lettuce (I think), ready to go to the grocery store!
Strawberry fields, I think. We wished they had signs in front of all the crops saying what was growing there!
For the love of travel,
Rebekah
Gorgeous sunset--and more beach pictures!
ReplyDeleteVineyards, wow. I've never seen them outside of movies. Those fields of crops remind me of the fields in Mississippi!
Blessings,
