We definitely saw some interesting rocks...
So the Navajo Nation owns this land...and it's disputable whether or not this is the real Four Corners (Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado)...and they charge you $3 a person. Needless to say, it wasn't exactly worth the time or money. But we were right there, so...we did it.
We made it!!
It was so cool to watch the shadows of the clouds moving across the landscape!
Green grass!!! You find yourself ecstatic at the sight when you've driven through the desert. :)
The best part about being in Mesa Verde (in the Southwest corner of Colorado)...
Oh, and then we found this penny. Cool!
Mesa Verde
There were these sweet horses by the campground (they belonged to the campground owners). We had fun feeding them handfuls of grass and weeds. :)
And yes, they posed for the camera. :)
(See the spots on the horse's back? It was dusty, and then it rained, so that happened!)
We had a delightful drive through the foothills of the San Juan mountains...there was a pretty little creek running next to the road!
Lizard Head Pass
This was up near Telluride. Beautiful country!
There was still some snow on the highest points, even in July!
This is the Blue Mesa Reservoir near Gunnison. It was wonderful to see that much water in one place! But it was down pretty far - it's so dry up there.
Next up: The Fourth of July!
For the love of travel,
Rebekah
