Coronado is a peninsula off of San Diego that's almost more of an island. The easiest way to get to it is over a big long bridge. It's a beautiful area, and we had such a wonderful day there!
Point Loma, as seen from North Island Naval Air Station on the end of Coronado
That's the USS Ronald Reagan (aircraft carrier) coming into the harbor!
It was landing, don't worry. :)
So this was the weather that morning...foggy and grey...
...but here's the other side of Coronado, around noon!
It reminds me a lot of the pier in Santa Monica (only a lot smaller).
The Hotel del Coronado, known locally as "The Hotel Del" or "The Del"
A little later that afternoon, the Reagan had docked
USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70)
Daddy's cousin lives on Coronado, and we had such a wonderful evening with her. Her house is beautiful! We all agreed that if it were possible to pick up her house, the city of Coronado, and the weather, and move it to the South, it would be perfect. :)
And yes, she drives a Mustang. :)
Her son Alan's (adorable!) girlfriend is the assistant manager at this t-shirt/souvenir shop!
The sunset was so beautiful!!
For the love of travel,
