We took two days driving from Port Hueneme to Monterey, and the first day was such a short drive that we were able to do some sightseeing along the way!
When our dear friends in Monterey visited us last year, they told us how much they love Solvang. It's a Danish town near the coast of California, and if that sounds like an oxymoron, you're right! We were blessed with good weather that day and had a delightful time exploring the town.
But first, a few pictures from the evening before, when we were on our way back to the camper after visiting the Reagan museum.
West Coast sunsets are beautiful.
That small little dab of something in the center in front was horseradish.
I was so excited when I saw these - my friend Zibber loves them!
Hans Christian Andersen Museum
An old Lutheran church on the edge of town.
The ice cream and coffee were my downfall that day.
Sarah was a lot smarter and got this from Mortensen's. An apple danish. It was so good!!
(We split it.)
For the love of travel,

Beach pictures! I love beach pictures, and that shot of the clouds is beautiful. The Danish town looks very pretty and quaint.
