Solvang, California | Grand Trip Out West

We took two days driving from Port Hueneme to Monterey, and the first day was such a short drive that we were able to do some sightseeing along the way!

When our dear friends in Monterey visited us last year, they told us how much they love Solvang. It's a Danish town near the coast of California, and if that sounds like an oxymoron, you're right! We were blessed with good weather that day and had a delightful time exploring the town.

But first, a few pictures from the evening before, when we were on our way back to the camper after visiting the Reagan museum.

The ice cream and coffee were my downfall that day. Let's just say, don't eat a scoop of ice cream, drink a large cup of coffee, take a nap, and expect to wake up feeling normal. I had caffeine jitters the rest of the day!

Sarah was a lot smarter and got this from Mortensen's. An apple danish. It was so good!!
