When I was uploading all of these pictures to Photobucket (almost 1,000 from the trip, and that's not counting the two posts' worth I haven't edited and uploaded yet!), I thought, "Oops..." when I saw how many pictures from the zoo I'm putting in this post.
70. ::sheepish grin::
So here you go, seventy pictures from the world-famous San Diego Zoo! It's huge!
Another big cost-saving blessing from our trip: we were able to get discounted tickets from the Navy base!
The pandas were asleep. In fact, most of the animals were.
(Most of these were taken through a fence, thus the partially blurry shots.)
It was so funny watching this bighorn sheep fall asleep! He just sat there with his eyes closing more and more, and his nose almost touched the ground!
I can't remember the exact name of these sweet animals, but they're called singing dogs!
The koala bears were definitely a favorite. Just ask my mom, she could have watched them all day! :)
This giraffe was born about 6 weeks before we were there!
If I had Photoshop, I would have put this picture and the next into a .gif so you could see the two in quick succession. Just scroll up and down so you can see them both together. SO funny!
Needless to say, the giraffes' faces cracked me up. :)
He was watching the children draw pictures of him!
There you go! A trip to the zoo, minus all the walking! :) I think I shot the whole thing with my telephoto lens- so glad I brought it along that day!
For the love of travel,

Those are gorgeous pictures (and very clear, for the most part!). Polar bears? How do they keep polar bears comfortable in San Diego? Wow.
ReplyDeleteThe sleeping lion was almost cute...it's funny how even ferocious animals can be cute (sometimes!). Love the crocodile picture...crocs and 'gators are just cool.
Blessings,
